Vastu plants for the home
Tulsi, money plant, lucky bamboo and jade are the four most asked for. Where they go, and what they need.

Plenty of our customers buy with vastu in mind. We are growers rather than vastu consultants, so we will set out what is traditionally held and, more usefully, whether the plant can actually live in that spot.
Tulsi
Traditionally placed in the north, north-east or east, often in a courtyard or on a balcony. Practically, basil-ocimum-sanctum-green/" class="guidelink">tulsi needs at least four hours of direct sun, so east or north-east works well and a dark north-facing corner does not. Water daily in summer, pinch the flower spikes off to keep the leaves coming.
Money plant
Usually placed in the south-east. It is one of the few plants that genuinely does not mind where you put it, so tradition and horticulture agree here. Keep it out of direct sun and let it trail or climb.
Lucky bamboo
Often kept in the east, and commonly grown in water. If yours is in water, change the water every two weeks and keep the stalks out of direct sun. Tap water that has stood overnight is better than fresh.
Jade
Placed in the south-east, by the entrance in many homes. Jade is a succulent, so it wants bright light and very little water: once a fortnight in summer, monthly in the rains.
Whatever the placement, a dying plant helps nobody. If tradition and light disagree, follow the light, and put the plant where it can be seen and enjoyed.
